Hurst Educational Services
As a consultant with extensive experience with college-readiness in Texas, Tracey K. Hurst established Hurst Educational Services. Based on15 years of experience as an educational consultant in Texas, and over a decade teaching secondary mathematics and social studies, Tracey is intimately acquainted with the daily trials confronting both students and educators, even including virtually daily visits to classrooms. Subsequently, her firsthand experience is an invaluable asset which offers unique and valuable insight. The result of this experience base is an exciting new initiative: TSIReady.

At Hurst Educational Services, client schools are implementing the TSIReady philosophy. Based on extensive research into TSI 2.0, a deep understanding of College Board tests, and a comprehensive understanding of the research around learning, Tracey Hurst helps your school implement TSIReady tools in the classroom, resulting in both clarity for teachers and empowerment for students, the two groups working toward Texas Success Initiative (TSI) success. Last-minute boot camps, that are most often found to be ineffective, will become a thing of the past at your school. With the TSIReady plan, coupled with the belief that equitable access to high-quality education is deserved by all students, Hurst Educational Services is dedicated to enhancing college readiness for all, empowering teachers to prepare students within their content areas during first instruction.
My Story
Tracey K. Hurst is an accomplished educator whose career has spanned multiple roles and responsibilities. Currently serving as an independent consultant, she has worked across the State of Texas, both in the Early College High School network as well as with elementary, middle, and high schools, helping with instructional leadership, systems designs, progress monitoring, accelerating instruction, and multiple other topics as needed by the campus. Additionally, she works with school district central office personnel in the area of leadership development and the successful transition from the classroom to a support role.

Mrs. Hurst is well known in the early college high school community both for her work with Dr. Patricia Uribe and the guidebooks to aid in design, as well as on site work with over 100 different campuses on instructional coherence and reaching the at-risk learner. She has authored two books for students, The Best Version of You! and
Making Collaborative Groups Work! Both are designed to help early college students navigate the fast transition to college student. Support classes like MAPS, Advisory, and AVID classes have used her products to educate students about the soft skills associated with college readiness and the steps to take in high school to help with college transition.

In addition to work for Texas Education Agency’s regional service centers 10 and 13, Mrs. Hurst worked as a consultant for Educate Texas from 2009-2014 under a TEA grant to support early college high schools. Prior to that, she served as the Advanced Academics Director in Richardson ISD, where she also was a classroom mathematics and social studies teacher, as well as head volleyball coach. During a hiatus from education, Mrs. Hurst was the director of a non-profit affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution.
