Audience:

Math teachers, Administrators, building instructional coaches

Rationale:

Mathematics literacy can not be accomplished in a boot camp. Yes, reminders provided in a boot camp will help but without intentional work around conceptual understanding, teachers are continuously using band-aid solutions and students hate math.  By helping the students make sense of the math, understand what the various representations illustrate, and having academic conversations about math, success is far more likely to occur.

Explore the TSI 2.0 Math Workshop, a focused session crafted for secondary math educators guiding students through college readiness assessments, including the TSI 2.0. This workshop is designed to deepen educators' understanding of the TSI 2.0 math tests and offer unique, practical strategies to support student success during the school day.

In this 3-hour session, participants will delve into the intricacies of the TSI 2.0 Math assessment, focusing on the 20 questions that comprise the CRC (College Readiness Component) portion navigating the multiple-choice sections, which evaluates algebra, geometry, probability, and statistics competencies.

Additionally, the workshop promotes macro ideas that require a shift in some current systems to best support the students as they progress through the math sequence, also addressing the gaps from the pandemic as well as calculator dependency, both significant challenges for success on TSI 2.0 math.
